It's final. Canadian legendary singer Celine Dion is coming to Manila! The iconic singer is playing a one night show at the Mall of Asia (MOA) Arena in Pasay on July 19, as a stop on the Asia Pacific leg of her LIVE 2018 Tour.

Celine is the singer who powered hits such as “Power of Love” and “My Heart Will Go On” and is one of the most recognizable voices in music history.

Celine is also known for introducing on stage the then young Filipina singer Charice Pempengco to the delight of their legions of fans.

The Canadian artist counts 5 Grammys, 2 Oscars, and 7 American Music Awards to her name, and was even given the Icon Award at the 2016 Billboard Music Awards.

Celine herself announced her Asia Pacific tour that includes the Philippines in a video message posted on her social media accounts.

“New year, new tour! I am thrilled to announce I’ll be touring the Asia-Pacific region this summer and I can’t wait to perform for you…I’ll be back in Tokyo and Macao after 10 years, and I will also have the pleasure to visit for the first time ever Singapore, Jakarta, Taipei, Manila and Bangkok!,” she posted on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

A tour schedule was also posted on Dion’s website which showed that the 48-year-old hitmaking chanteuse will perform in Manila on July 19 at the Mall of Asia Arena. The Manila concert will be presented by AEG Presents and Ovation Productions.

Celine  has an ongoing Las Vegas residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, where she has played over 1,000 shows to over 4 million fans.

This will be Celine’s first time in Manila. She was initially set to perform at the MOA Arena in November 2014, but canceled months before the show, to care for her late husband Rene Angelil, who was at the time battling cancer.

In an interview with entertainment editor and columnist Ricky Lo in Las Vegas, Celine said she was sorry and apologized to her Filipino fans for her cancelled show in 2014.

“I will make up for it,” she promised, reported Ricky Lo.

Dion has sold almost 250 million albums during her over 30-year career and is best known for hit songs like “If You Asked Me To,” “The Power of Love,” “Because You Loved Me,” “It’s All Coming Back to Me,” “All By Myself,” “My Heart Will Go On,” “I’m Your Angel,” and “That’s The Way It Is.”

She has earned five Grammy Awards, two Academy Awards and seven American Music Awards. In 2004, Dion received the Diamond award at the World Music Awards recognizing her status as the best-selling female artist of all time. In 2016, the Billboard Music Awards presented her with the lifetime achievement Icon Award.
